“I feel like no matter what I say I cannot adequately describe my wonderful experience with Molly and Lux Events, just take my word for it, they will not disappoint.” – Ashley Boyes
Ashley Boyes says: “Three days after my engagement I found myself touring wedding venues alone and making lists long enough to intimidate anyone. With my family out of town, and my fiance working long hours I struggled, not only needing help with the logistics, but needing a trusted second opinion. While I contacted many event planners in the city, my first meeting with Molly sealed the deal. Within 5 minutes she turned my anxious rambling into confidence and excitement. Molly helps with ideas, logistics, vendors, payments, rehearsals, organization, she attends meetings that maybe others would think do not belong in her list of duties, the list is really endless. Molly helped me focus my vision, and adapt when we couldn’t quite locate what I wanted. The day was beautiful, so many details that I loved, so many ideas came to life, a combination of things I wanted, and things Molly knew I would love. Molly takes the time to know you and your style, making sure that your wedding is everything you want it to be. She is comforting and understanding, resourceful and creative, so very sweet, but she has no issue having the tough conversations that are necessary either.”
After a custom inspiration board was created for Ashley, our vision really started to come together. The ceremony and reception were both at Cedar Lodge and so we wanted to make sure and bring the same décor elements outside for the ceremony and inside for the reception. We wanted to make the wedding romantic, formal and dramatic. My favourite part of the decor were the large king tables with centrepieces of varying heights. They were a combination of willow & hydrangeas, spider mums, greenery and bark wire. We also had little bud vases with Queen Anne’s lace which double as our aisle decor at the ceremony. For their guests book, the couple had ‘wish cards’ which doubled as place cards at each seat. After a wish was made, guests decorated the tree that stood at the front of the room. Oh yes, and Ashley’s mom made the most stunning arbour for the couple to get married under which overlooked Blackstrap Lake.
